Professor Dr. Alireza Khataee was born on April 22, 1977, in Tabriz, East Azerbaijan, Iran. He obtained his Ph.D. in Applied Chemistry from the University of Tabriz and completed a sabbatical at Nancy University, France 2007. The same year, he joined the University of Tabriz as an Assistant Professor of Applied Chemistry and was promoted to Full Professor in 2011.
From June 2014 to August 2015, he served as a visiting scientist at Atatürk University, Turkey, under the sponsorship of TÜBİTAK. He holds the Director of Technology Affairs Manager position at the University of Tabriz and has led the university’s Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Committee since 2015. Additionally, he has recently been appointed as a Visiting Professor at Near East University, İzmit Institute of Technology (IZTECH), and Istanbul Technical University.
Professor Khataee’s research interests include applied chemistry, advanced water and wastewater treatment processes, nanotechnology, and optical sensors.
He is a highly cited researcher with an extensive publication record of over 700 papers. His H-index is 97 on Scopus, with 19,098 citations, and 92 on Web of Science
